Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Alternative Educational Instructor to join our team. This full‑time position is designed for individuals who are committed to providing innovative and effective educational solutions for students who may not thrive in traditional classroom settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of alternative education methodologies and a desire to foster a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages student growth and success.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the diverse needs of students in alternative education settings.
  • Create and deliver engaging and adaptive instructional materials and activities that align with curriculum standards.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and personal growth among students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students and families to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with special education staff, counselors, and other educators to create a holistic support system for students.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and technologies to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Conduct regular meetings with students and families to discuss academic performance, behavioral issues, and strategies for success.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in alternative education and instructional methodologies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and behavioral incidents in accordance with school policies.
  • Advocate for students and their families, connecting them with community resources and support services as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification or licensure in the state of employment.
  • Proven experience working with at‑risk youth or in alternative education settings.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and various learning styles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in technology and educational software to enhance learning experiences.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and remain flexible in a dynamic educational landscape.
