Summary

The Instructional Assistant II at Providence Elementary School plays a vital role in supporting the educational needs of students and enhancing the overall learning environment. This full-time position involves working closely with teachers to implement instructional plans, assist with classroom management, and provide individualized support to students. • Assist classroom teachers in the delivery of instructional activities and lesson plans.
• Provide individualized and small group support to students, helping them to achieve their academic goals.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers on student performance and areas for improvement.
• Help create and maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment that promotes student learning and participation.
• Support students with special needs, implementing accommodations and modifications as outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Assist in the preparation and organization of instructional materials and resources.
• Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other non-instructional times to ensure safety and positive behavior.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support student development and address any concerns.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional skills and knowledge.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and adhere to school policies and procedures.

• 42 college credit hours or passing of the para educator exam.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques, particularly for diverse learners.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in technology and educational software used in the classroom.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student growth and development.
• Must pass a background check and comply with all local and state education regulations.
