Summary
Elliott County Intermediate is seeking a dedicated and passionate Intermediate Classroom Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and engaging learning environment for students in grades 3-5, utilizing innovative teaching strategies to inspire a love for learning. This full-time position requires strong communication skills, a commitment to student growth, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and meet the diverse needs of students.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and collaboration.
- Assess and monitor student progress through various evaluation methods, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate varying learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
- Establish and maintain clear classroom rules and expectations to promote a respectful and safe learning environment.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff, and administration to enhance curriculum and school initiatives.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other school activities as needed.
- Contribute to a positive school culture by participating in school events and committees.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification for the appropriate grade levels.
- A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience preferred, especially in intermediate grades.
- Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage with students and parents.
- Proficient in using technology and educational software to enhance learning experiences.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable classroom environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
