Job Title: Crestwood Elementary Library Media Clerk (26/27) –

Overview

Assists in the organization and operation of the library media program, working collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and the SBDM Council to promote information literacy and help students access, synthesize, produce and communicate information.

Job Details

Job Type: Classified, Hourly.
Position Type: Support Staff.
Reports to: Library Media Specialist and Principal.
Terms of Employment: 6.5‑hour workday in elementary and 7‑hour workday in middle/high school; compensation based on 185 contract days per the 104 salary schedule.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school graduate.
  • Proficiency in secretarial skills and library media tasks.
  • Ability to push, pull or lift 40 pounds; kneel and reach above head.
Performance Responsibilities
  • Processes new materials: prepares books, periodicals and non‑print materials for shelves.
  • Assists in management and circulation of library media materials; uses library management program to help students and teachers locate and check out materials; checks in and shelves items; records circulation statistics; prepares overdue notices; works with annual inventory and withdrawal of materials; mends books and periodicals; implements schedule of KET and video recording and playback.
  • Prepares materials using word processor for correspondence, requisitions, bibliographies, newsletters, statistical reports, and other requested items; assists in preparing instructional materials, exhibits, and bulletin boards.
  • Assists students: help students find materials; read stories.
  • Serves as a substitute for the LMS during short‑term absences.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
