Summary
Elliott County Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School Math Teacher to join our team. This full-time position requires an individual who is committed to fostering a positive learning environment and inspiring students to develop a strong understanding of mathematical concepts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mathematics, effective communication skills, and a desire to engage students through innovative teaching methods.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines.
- Teach a range of math topics, including but not limited to algebra, geometry, and statistics, tailored to the diverse learning needs of middle school students.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through regular testing, quizzes, and assignments, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and critical thinking.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic achievements.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and innovations in math instruction.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other school activities as needed. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and assessments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or license in Middle School Mathematics.
- Strong understanding of middle school math curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Previous teaching experience in a middle school setting is preferred but not required.
