The Department of Political Science, Criminal Justice, and Organizational Leadership at Northern Kentucky University is creating a database of potential part‑time instructors qualified to teach courses in one or more of the following disciplines: political science, criminal justice, and organizational leadership. This posting is not tied to a specific position; it will serve to identify qualified candidates for future part‑time faculty appointments.
TeachingResponsibilities
- Teaching a three‑credit hour course.
- Creating a syllabus with a timeline of classes for students.
- Providing a meeting time for students.
- Managing the MyNKU online grading system.
- Developing and managing syllabus materials.
- Selecting and compiling tests, assignments, and online discussion exercises that allow measurement of performance against standardized learning objectives.
- Coordinating courseware and curriculum with the academic department chair.
- Reviewing any textbook and other courseware changes with the chair and full‑time faculty teaching the course.
- Facilitating class instruction in accordance with learning objectives and session plan outlines.
- Administering evaluations of student performance based on course deliverables and rubrics.
- Posting all course grades in MyNKU.
Applicants must possess a minimum of a Master’s Degree in political science, criminal justice, organizational leadership, public administration, or a related field. Candidates will be required to undergo a pre‑employment criminal background check as mandated by state law.
