This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position that begins in late August and ends in early June, approximately 40 weeks per year. Compensation ranges from $23.00–$26.00 per hour, plus a generous benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, and retirement benefits.
Qualifications and Employment Requirements:

  • At least 21 years of age 3–5 years of experience working in a school or childcare setting preferred Physical ability to actively supervise children indoors and outdoors, including bending, kneeling, lifting, and participating in playground activities Test for tuberculosis not more than one year prior to or seven days after employment Documentation of a Department of Justice criminal record clearance or exemption as required by law

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrate enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility, and a positive attitude when working with young children Work cooperatively with faculty and staff to maintain a quality program Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues, and school families Demonstrate willingness to contribute to the school community and support the mission and philosophy of the school Relate joyfully and sensitively to children, colleagues, and families from all backgrounds Use positive techniques for guidance and redirection of children Present a positive, supportive, and professional image to families and other staff members, including through dress, demeanor, and communication

Duties and Expectations:

  • Actively support and assist the assigned Kindergarten Lead Teacher, reporting directly to them Prepare and maintain classroom materials and learning environments as directed by the Lead Teacher Assist with curriculum implementation, classroom activities, and daily routines Actively supervise students in the classroom and on the playground, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Interact frequently and positively with children, fostering a nurturing environment that respects individual differences and encourages developmentally appropriate independence, positive social interactions, and social-emotional growth Support classroom management and respond appropriately to individual student needs Exercise sound judgment and follow school policies and procedures when supervising and supporting students Communicate professionally and appropriately with families and school staff
