**** About this Opportunity
** This position is part of Ensign College's Immersive Learning Student Employment Program. The focus of this program is giving student employees opportunities to gain real-world, career applicable skills and experience, reinforced with integrated mentoring and a course (CAR
295) that helps reinforce CWC learning.

Unlike traditional student employment, Immersive Learning positions combine hands-on work experience with guided reflection through CAR 295R, helping students strengthen College Wide Capabilities while building career-ready skills.

As a participant in this program, student employees will:
* Enroll in CAR 295R (0.5 credit) each semester they are employed (up to three semesters).
* Complete a College Wide Capability Project each semester that connects workplace experiences with professional learning and career development.
* Participate in periodic program assessments that help the College evaluate the impact of the Immersive Learning experience.
** Position Summary
** Peer Mentors at Ensign College provide intentional, relationship-based support to newly admitted students as they transition to college and throughout their first year. Peer Mentors help students feel prepared before arrival, connected during their first year, and supported as they engage in the Ensign College experience.

Peer Mentors serve as trusted student leaders who build belonging, encourage academic and personal success, and connect students to campus resources, services, and opportunities. Through regular outreach, one-on-one support, small group interaction, and collaboration with the First-Year Experience Team, Peer Mentors contribute to student persistence and success.

It is expected that peer mentors uphold and exemplify a high standard of conduct and academic performance. As you dedicate your time and energy to supporting the success of your peers, your own lives will be enriched and you will gain valuable relationships, experience, enhance leadership skills, and opportunities for personal growth and development.  Hours are flexible and can generally be arranged to accommodate the student employee’s class schedule.

Number of hours may vary week to week depending on need.

Student Employees are eligible to work on campus in a part-time capacity according to Ensign College Student Employment Policy.  In addition to fulfilling this purpose, each employee continuously strives to bring about the mission of Ensign College, which is to develop capable and trusted disciples of Jesus Christ.
** Specific Summary of Duties:
** Pre-Arrival Guidance
* Provide pre-arrival support to newly admitted students to help them prepare for a successful start at Ensign College.
* Help students understand and complete key onboarding and readiness steps.
* Communicate with assigned students before the start of their first semester through email, text, phone, and other approved outreach methods.
* Attend and assist with New Student Orientation and other events for newly admitted students.

ENS 101
* Support assigned section(s) of ENS 101 (College Success) in coordination with the First-Year Experience Team and ENS 101 course instructor(s).
* Assist with student engagement, participation, and connection to course concepts and success strategies introduced in ENS 101.
* Reinforce key first-year success messages, habits, and resources connected to course objectives and learning outcomes.
* * Lead out in the scheduling, planning, and execution of the ENS 101 Belonging Symposium each block of ENS 101*
* * Hold weekly in-person gathering groups led by the peer mentor
* Support First-Year Students
* Build positive mentoring relationships with assigned students and maintain regular communication throughout the first year.
* Support first-year students in navigating academic expectations, campus life, resources, and common transition challenges.
* Meet with students in one-on-one and group settings as needed.
