The Nassau BOCES Department of Regional Schools and Instructional Programs is seeking Part-time Adult Educators to support the Adult English as a Second Language program at the Adult Learning Center in Garden City. Classes will be held on weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Teaching beginner to advanced levels of English speaking, reading, and writing to adult learners
Maintaining accurate attendance records
Fulfilling 14 hours of New York State mandated professional development
REQUIREMENTSNew York State Education Department (NYSED) Certification in a K-12 Academic Area
NYSED Certification:
English to Speakers of Other Language (ESOL), Literacy, and/or Bilingual Education Extension is preferred
Prior experience as a classroom teacher
Ability to work weekdays, evenings, and/or Saturdays
SALARYAs per salary schedule
