Job Description and Responsibilities

Thera Peds Partners is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a school-based opportunity in Dry River, Kentucky
. We are open to both full-time and part-time candidates for the school year

Position Details

  • Up to 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling options

  • Fully on-site, in-person assignment supporting students in Kindergarten through 12th grade
  • Provide specialized services and support to students with visual impairments
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote student success and access to learning
  • Maintain student records, participate in planning meetings, and complete required documentation and administrative responsibilities
  • Guaranteed paid hours include direct services, documentation, planning, meetings, and administrative tasks
  • Manageable caseloads designed to support high-quality, individualized student services
  • Ongoing collaboration and professional support from both the partnering school district and the Thera Peds Partners team
  • $65-$85+ per hour
    , based on experience
  • Part-time schedules may earn up to approximately $1300-$1700+ per week
What You'll Do
  • Deliver specialized instruction designed to meet each student's unique visual, academic, and functional learning needs.
  • Conduct educational assessments and use evaluation results to develop individualized recommendations.
  • Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) while coordinating case management responsibilities.
  • Monitor student performance and modify instructional strategies to maximize progress and independence.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and required special education records.
  • Partner with teachers, families, therapists, and administrators to create coordinated support plans that encourage student success.
  • Consult with classroom staff regarding accommodations, adaptive techniques, and instructional strategies that promote access to learning.
  • Foster a positive, engaging learning environment that supports student confidence and participation.
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree or higher in Special Education
  • Certification for Teaching Exceptional Children – Visually Impaired, Grades Primary through 12.
  • 1+ years of experience in a school setting preferred
  • Experience working with visually Impaired children
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in use of technology
  • Fingerprint background clearance
  • Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications
Physical Requirements

Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities,
while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
