The Life Works School in Media, PA is actively hiring for Special Education Teacher on Special Assignment for the Academic School Year.
We are now offering a $10,000 Sign-On Bonus for a certified Special Education Teacher!
The Life Works Schools are licensed specialty therapeutic day schools for students in middle and high school effected by social, emotional, or behavioral health challenges. Life Works comprehensive educational curriculum is individualized and designed to actively engage each student throughout the day to achieve positive, pro-social behavioral and educational outcomes. Our unique balance of academic rigor and a continuum of evidence based educational/therapeutic supports make Life Works the regional provider of choice.
The teacher on special assignment case manages and supports the delivery of specialized instructional and behavioral services to students while directly working with the building principal in the coordination of any coverage needs for school. This role assists teachers, counselors, behavior interventionists and administrators in implementing Individualized Education Plans, ensuring students receive appropriate accommodations and supports. The teacher on special assignment helps create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment by providing direct student assistance, monitoring progress, and maintaining accurate documentation.
They will also provide direct support to staff through observations, instructional coaching and individual supervision.

Qualifications- Bachelor’s level degree in Special Education required. Master's preferred.
- 3-5 years of special education teaching experience required.
- Pennsylvania certification in Special Education required.
- Pennsylvania Principal/Admin cert preferred.
- Prior experience working with students with behavioral health challenges within a school setting preferred.
