Special Education Instructor

The successful candidates will manage the development and implementation of student IEPs, managing paraprofessional support and scheduling within the classroom, and other appropriate skills associated with teaching.

Matherville Intermediate School has a vacancy for a special education teacher beginning Aug 2026.

Matherville Intermediate School is part of the Sherrard #200 School District. Matherville Intermediate is a rural, fifth and sixth grade building serving approximately 180 students. Matherville Intermediate School is located about twenty miles south of Moline, IL.

Matherville Intermediate has a unique internal setup. The fifth grade functions as an elementary school, where students receive instruction in their core classes from one teacher. The sixth grade however, is based on the middle school concept, where the students will travel to their various classes. The selected candidate will work closely with two other certified special education teachers, as well as the general education teachers.

The District provides cohesive support utilizing a district social worker, school psychologist, speech language pathologist and building counselor as part of the special education team.
