North Bullitt High School is searching for two highly motivated and positive team members to assist a certified teacher in providing instruction to groups of students, monitoring and reporting student progress, and enhancing overall student performance. Experience working with students, intervention systems, and small groups is strongly desired.
This position will provide assistance for students with special needs. Candidates must be able to attend training for the position and meet all qualifications necessary to be hired as an instructional assistant.
Position DetailsHours: 6.5 hours per day (plus a 30‑minute unpaid lunch).
Contract Length: 183 days per year.
- 170 student instructional days
- 4 holidays
- 7 planning days
- 2 extended days
Contract Adjustments: Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date.
Employment Status: Full‑time with benefits.
Employment Type: 10‑month employee on the classified salary schedule.
Qualifications & Requirements- Education: Must meet one of the following:
- 48 college semester hours
- An Associate’s Degree
- High school diploma plus a passing score on the Para educator Assessment Exam
- Documentation: Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire.
pay scale
- Step 0: $16.46
- Step 10: $20.26
Previous experience working with students, intervention systems, and small‑group instruction is strongly desired.
- Experience Credit: New employees may transfer up to 10 years of comparable, full‑time, verified experience.
- It is the employee’s responsibility to submit the BCPS Verification of Experience form to previous employers.
- Retirement: Membership in the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA).
- Life Insurance: Total $50,000 (free to you). $20,000 paid by the State of Kentucky and $30,000 paid by BCPS.
- Health Coverage: Comprehensive Health Insurance (employee premium based on plan selected) or Waiver HRA options.
- Time Off: Sick Leave, Personal Leave, and Emergency Leave (prorated). Unused Personal Leave rolls over to Sick Leave. Unused Sick Leave rolls over.
