POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Principal, the Para Professional Aide provides students with educational and behavioral programs that will enable them to reach their fullest educational potential, while rebuilding their self-esteem.
Assist teacher in the academic process that includes assisting in management of the classroom environment under the teacher’s leadership. Acts as a positive role model for students.

EXPERIENCE/
EDUCATION:
A high school diploma or GED is REQUIRED
. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Knowledge of educational, child development and classroom teaching/management theories with a good understanding of educational and therapeutic interventions is preferred. It is required to possess a valid Illinois driver’s license with no suspensions or tickets for major traffic violations for at least three years
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: I.S.B.E. Paraprofessional certificate and I.S.B.E. Substitute Teacher Certificate is required. Primary Source Verification is required.
