Job Title: EURēCA! Student Assistant in Relationship Studies Lab

Job Location: CU Denver Psychology Department/ This position is for on campus-only

Purpose: The Relationship Studies Labin the CU Denver Department of Psychology is conducting studies focused on various aspects of interpersonal experience, including subjectively reported experiences of partner infidelity and interpersonal dynamics within military relationships. Student assistants will conduct qualitative codingon open-ended participant questionnairesanddevelop a RACAS poster with available data. Supervision will be conducted byDr. Elizabeth Allen(professor and lab director) and Lizette Sanchez,graduate student in a Ph.D.program).Alab

manager will oversee logistics and onboarding of new student assistants.

Position

Description:

Student assistants will conduct qualitative codingon open-ended participant questionnairesanddevelop a RACAS poster with available data.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prospective EURēCA!students will be expected to complete all required human subjects training (through CITI), sign a lab-specific confidentiality and data security agreement,attend regular meetings with Dr. Allen and Ms. Sanchez, competently execute assigned qualitative coding tasks, and complete an independentresearchposter(onan approved topic) including generation of research hypotheses, literature review, analysis, interpretation, and presentation.

Skills and Knowledge Gained:

• Student assistantswillunderstand how to qualitatively code open-ended questionnaires (e.g., thematic analysis), communicate effectively with other members of the research team regarding research tasks/responsibilities/challenges, and develop an independent research poster with the help of faculty and graduate student mentors. Students will also comprehendthedifferent components ofascientificposter(e.g., introduction, results, discussion, etc.)as it pertains to psychological research and how to generate new research hypotheses and potential topics for future research papers and posters.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Student assistants will need a strong work ethic, organizational skills, ability to work independently, self awareness and reflective capacity, written or oral communication skills, and working knowledge of Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Psyc courses in statistics and research methods.
• Strong academic performance and interest in graduate school in clinical psychology are preferred.

Position Commitment: 9, but may be able to be flexible per funding options (dependent on work-study award amount)

Preferred Work Times: TBD, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday

Length of Employment:

This position is available for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027, employment may continue en’s discretion. Please reach out toelizabeth.allen with any questions about the position. If both mentor and mentee agree, students can apply to continue with EURēCA! for a second year.

Offers for this position are contingent on a work-study award.

• First complete  FAFSA or CASFA and confirm work-study eligibility with the CU Denver Financial Aid office.
• Once confirmed, attach email from Financial Aid stating potential work-study eligibility.
• Following interview and position offers, the EURēCA! Office will provide Work-study Authorization forms to confirm final work-study award amounts.
