ADMINISTRATOR, ADULT & CAREER EDUCATION DIVISION46G (School Support Administrator, 0515)
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Adult & Career Education Division, the administrator, will direct the planning and development of adult and ca r eer education programs and projects.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:- Supervises Division of Adult and Career Education principals
- Provides support to site administrators in addressing school performance measurements and student outcomes
- Assesses the pedagogical details of the schools' improvement plans; helps principals set key objectives for learning and measurable benchmarks
- Prepares and presents special reports to District Board Members, senior staff, and committees representing Division projects and programs
- Guides principals in analyzing data to drive instructional changes at schools; determining next steps based on disaggregated data and school walkthroughs
- Serves as a resource and liaison to District staff and local, county, state, and federal agencies by providing leadership and guidance in the analysis, interpretation, and development of policy and compliance strategies pertaining to Adult and Career Education programs
- Directs and guides school administrators and stakeholders as they align budgets with the needs of students to ensure that rigorous instructional programs and effective support services are delivered to all students
- Administers and evaluates staffing and organizational structure is appropriate to desired student outcomes; guides site administrators with implementing Human Resources staffing
- Directs, refers, and investigates complaints pertaining to Adult and Career Education
- Works in conjunction with Staff Relations to resolve bargaining unit concerns
- Plans, coordinates, and implements school operations and safety activities for administrators and other District personnel in the Division of Adult and Career Education
- Coordinates the development, operation, and evaluation of special projects/programs
- Performs other duties as assigned
46G (School Support Administrator, 0515) – A Basis ($158,723 – $197,937) – 261paid days
- In the case of an annualized employee who is changing basis during the year, this change may result in an annualized "settlement"(i.e., the process by which the district resolves an under or over payment).
- For employees who change basis during the school year, this basis change may prevent them from earning a full year of service credit.
- Selected individuals may be subject to displacement due to norm allocation and seniority-based RIF provisions or due to budget limitations.
- This position is deemed certificated under Education Code Section 44065 but may not qualify for "creditable service" under Education Code Section 22119.5 for CalSTRS benefits. However, if the candidate chosen for the position is already a CalSTRS member, he/she can fill out an election form to remain in CalSTRS and thereby obtain CalSTRS credit for this service.
- At least eight (8) years of successful, full-time public-school service in a certificated position(s), with no fewer than three (3) years of which must have been in a position(s) requiring the Administrative Services Credential
- At least one (1) year of successful, full-time public-school service as a principal
- A valid California Teaching Credential requiring a bachelor's degree and a program of professional preparation, that included student teaching OR a valid California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential
- An earned master's degree or advanced degree of at least equivalent standard conferred by a regionally-accredited college or university
- Completion of required Multicultural Education coursework*
