Job SummaryInstructor is responsible for performing all aspects of instruction for the Data Center Operations program. The responsibilities of this position include day, evening, and online programs for both traditional and dual-enrolled students.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- Associate’s in Data Center Operations or related degree from an accredited institution. Related areas include electrical systems, industrial systems, HVAC, mechatronics or engineering.
OR recognized industry credentials, license, or certification related to data center operations. - Three (3) years of experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in data center operations or related field from an accredited institution.
- Directly related teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
- Online teaching experience.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of technology: internet, email, Microsoft Office products, Knowledge Management System (KMS), Blackboard, Banner, Degree Works, and Task Stream.

- Provides instruction in theory and practical applications of Data Center Operations in accordance with academic state standards.
- Instructs face-to-face, hybrid, or on-campus, as needed, in accordance with college faculty loads.
- Instructs courses in a classroom and lab environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry.
- Utilizes current technology in the classroom and lab.
- Evaluates student progress in attaining goals and objectives.
- Grades all coursework in a timely manner
- Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss student instructional programs and other issues.
- Maintains program certification/accreditation requirements as appropriate for the teaching discipline.
- Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
- Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in Data Center Operations.
- Attends professional development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences.
- Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the Data Center Operations program.
- Supports faculty to ensure all equipment is in working order.
- Suggests new/updated technology to remain current with trends and developments within the field.
- Ensure students are instructed in and follow all safety rules for operating equipment and using tools.
- Ensure classrooms and work areas are properly cleaned and maintained at all times.
- Develops program curriculum, syllabi, goals, and objectives.
- Prepares lesson plans for instruction.
- Works collaboratively with faculty within the discipline to establish, measure, and evaluate program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success, and submits to the Program Director
- Submits reports and data with respect to accrediting bodies.
- Reviews and edits master course shells in the online learning platform as necessary.
- Requests and maintains data center operations supplies and equipment.
