The Clinical Trainer is a valued business partner responsible for developing and conducting training for G.E.H.A’s Clinical Operations team. This role will collaborate with clinical leaders to identify training needs outside the core curriculum to maximize the effectiveness of our employees to deliver on G.E.H.A’s vision to inspire our members to live their best lives in pursuit of their overall health and well-being.

This role will also develop and deliver training to newly hired and existing staff to support clinical learning programs. The Clinical Trainer will provide thought leadership to build and/or expand learning programs for our clinical division through a variety of engaging learning methods such as, webinars, on demand training, in person, blended and distance learning. Works independently in collaboration with the management team.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Develops and administers large-scale internal learning programs for both in person and virtual environments, focusing primarily on the Clinical Operations Division
  • Develops a trusted advisor relationship with clinical operations by collaborating with leaders and key stakeholders to assess clinical learning and development needs, develop curriculum and other offerings to align with business needs and strategic goals.
  • Partners with subject matter experts to develop, update, and expand learning programs for in-person, blended and virtual environments using adult learning best practices.
  • Provides initial orientation program for new clinical staff and develop on-going educational programs and modify current training programs as needed.
  • Employs tools and technologies appropriate for a variety of learning delivery methods, including interactive workshops, exercises, and scenario-based training applying Adult Learning principles.
  • Monitors content for consistency, accuracy, clarity, ease of navigation, and evolving best practices for user experience and interface.
  • Partners with an Instructional Designer to design digital training courses, materials, instructor guides, and other learning media utilizing digital software, applications, and modalities such as adaptive learning, distance learning, and gamification.
  • Maintains clinical knowledge of new and emerging clinical applications to support in development of training materials and delivery.
  • Recommends and utilizes appropriate vendor programs meeting instructional goals and objectives.
  • Facilitates and/or leads programs to reinforce GEHA’s Vision and corporate initiatives, strategy, and goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance improvement tracking to drive continuous enhancement of learning programs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical workflows, care management, utilization management, and healthcare operations.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.
  • Ability to translate complex clinical concepts into engaging, easy-to-understand training materials.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and people skills to build strong relationships with clinical and operational leaders.
  • Data-driven approach to assessing training effectiveness and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a health-related field
