Position Overview
Union County TEAMS Charter School (UCTEAMS) seeks an innovative and passionate Middle School Math Teacher to join our mission-driven community. At UCTEAMS, we are a Community of Builders - cultivating curiosity, problem-solving, and collaboration through a rigorous STEM-focused program. The ideal candidate will design engaging math instruction that connects to real-world applications, interdisciplinary learning, and project-based experiences aligned with our school’s vision.
Certificationand Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Math Education, or related field from an accredited institution
- New Jersey Teacher Certification or Provisional Teacher Certification in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:9B
- Minimum of two years of successful teaching experience in a middle school or secondary setting preferred
- Deep understanding of New Jersey Student Learning Standards for Mathematics and the Standards for Mathematical Practice
- Commitment to UCTEAMS’ mission and belief that all students can achieve at high levels
- Demonstrated ability to foster a growth mindset, critical thinking, and problem-solving in students
- Strong collaboration, communication, and technology integration skills
- Experience with interdisciplinary and project-based learning preferred
- Desire for continual professional growth and lifelong learning
- Design and implement rigorous, standards-aligned math curriculum and lesson plans that promote conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and real-world application
- Integrate STEM themes and the UCTEAMS "Community of Builders" philosophy into daily instruction
- Use data to drive instruction, monitor progress, and differentiate learning for diverse learners
- Engage students in hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences that promote exploration, creativity, and collaboration
- Incorporate technology tools and digital resources to enhance learning and assessment
- Design and administer varied assessments, including performance tasks, portfolios, and rubrics, to measure student growth and understanding
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary projects and cross-curricular connections
- Maintain strong, ongoing communication with families to support student learning and growth
- Serve as an advisor and mentor to students, supporting their academic and personal development
- Participate actively in professional learning communities, school planning, and continuous improvement efforts
- Uphold New Jersey Professional Standards for Teachers and UCTEAMS’ expectations for excellence and professionalism
- Other responsibilities as assigned by school leadership
