Duties and Responsibilities Full time. $77,500 – $79,500/year. The School of Education ( SOE ) at Loyola University Chicago invites applications for a full-time, one-year, non-tenure track position as clinical assistant professor of teacher education
. This individual will join the Teaching and Learning (T&L) program area which leads Loyola's teacher education program. The selected individual will join faculty in the SOE's undergraduate and graduate programs, each of which is shaped around the SOE's conceptual framework of advancing professionalism in the service of social justice.

The main responsibilities of these positions include the following:

• Maintaining a 4/3 teaching load (four courses in the fall and three in the spring, for example, for a total of 21 credit hours) of undergraduate and/or graduate teacher education courses and modules . Courses are offered in university classrooms, while modules are field-based learning experiences of varying credit hours which primarily take place within partner sites. Enrolled students are pursuing Illinois teaching licensure in early childhood, elementary, secondary, and/or special education.
• Fulfilling the service responsibilities of a clinical professor, including advising of students, service to the Teaching & Learning programs, the SOE , the larger university, community, and profession. Research and publication are not required, but opportunities for collaborative research are available and encouraged.
• Collaborating regularly with T&L faculty across specialty areas in efforts to provide student support, maintain high-quality programming, meet accreditation standards, and advance the Teaching and Learning program goals and priorities.
• Maintaining and enhancing existing partnerships with schools and community agencies. This includes building relationships with teachers and administrators on site alongside other faculty members.

Presently, state education agency credentials in one or more teaching areas are required. Further, the successful candidate should have teaching experience in one or more of the following settings: early childhood, elementary, or secondary education. The person will also be required to teach general modules for culturally and linguistically diverse students who have not yet chosen a specialty area. These modules include topics such as culturally responsive teaching, working with multilingual learners, educational learning theories, educational policy, and other topics.

Successful candidates should have experience in teacher education. Experience with clinical supervision of teacher candidates is also preferred, given that modules use an apprenticeship approach to building the knowledge and skills of future teachers.

• Earned doctorate in Teacher Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or other related fields, preferably from a CAEP accredited program.
• Current or previous state educator licensure
• 3+ years of experience as a teacher of PK-12 students

• Urban education experiences and demonstrated efforts to address social justice
• Experience working with multilingual learners
