Part-Time Elementary Music Teacher

Aquinas Academy is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and faith-filled PreK–6 Music Teacher to join our faculty. This position is ideal for an educator who enjoys sharing a love of music with young learners while supporting the mission of Catholic education.

The successful candidate will deliver a comprehensive elementary music program aligned with Diocesan curriculum standards and will provide engaging learning experiences for all students.

The ideal candidate would also be able to teach beginning chorus and upper elementary band, including small-group instrument instruction when possible.

Responsibilities include:

• Teach general music classes for students in PreK–Grade 6.
• Develop students’ musical skills, performance skills, and appreciation for music.
• Prepare and lead music for school liturgies and prayer services.
• Coordinate and direct student performances for special events, including Veterans Day, Catholic Schools Week, end-of-year celebrations, and other school assemblies.
• Foster a positive, engaging, and faith-centered classroom environment.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to support the school’s educational and faith-based mission.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of elementary music education principles and effective instructional practices.
• Ability to teach beginning vocal and instrumental music at the elementary level.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Positive attitude and approach toward meeting the needs of all learners.
• Enthusiasm for working with children and supporting the mission of a Catholic school.
• Pennsylvania teaching certification in Music Education is preferred but not required for an otherwise qualified candidate.
