Special Education Teacher - Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Experience: Minimum years of experience required
License: State Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement
Certifications: ACVREP Certification for Teacher O&M (if applicable)
Must-Have- Bachelor's Degree in Education with coursework specific to sensory impairments
Ability to pass FBI and State background check
Ability to travel to various locations and districts
- Provide quality instruction to students.
- Prepare daily lesson plans.
- Evaluate student's skills to determine the best program of learning.
- Write and implement Individual Education Plans (IEP).
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Understand Arizona Academic Standards.
- Stay current with educational and diagnostic practices related to sensory impaired students.
- Develop lesson plans and Individual Education Plans.
- Implement student evaluation practices.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and programs of the work unit.
- Apply principles and practices of administration and management.
- Follow agency rules, regulations, and operating procedures.
- Utilize behavior management strategies.
- Demonstrate planning and organization skills.
- Engage in program development.
- Effectively communicate with students, staff, and the public.
- Instruct students to retain information.
- Complete student evaluations.
- Work cooperatively in teams.
