Education Specialist

• Create tailored schoolwork modifications and personalized curricula based on each student's needs, abilities, and performance indicators
• Guide families through the educational system to secure appropriate services and plans
• Train teachers in evidence-based educational best practices
• Advocate for patients and families requiring significant support and complex curriculum accommodations
• Collaborate with the School Program Manager and Children's leadership team
• Conduct research and attend training to remain current with educational best practices
• Provide training to multidisciplinary teams, including providers, nurses, social workers, and case managers, on school program services
• Lead special education advocacy for patients across service lines
• Train Children's School Program staff in teaching various curricula through a special education perspective
• Investigate industry trends and recommend customized learning tools
• Maintain expertise in evidence-based strategies and integrate best practices into programs
• Participate in internal and external committees or groups
• Analyze data to assess educational plan effectiveness and assist teachers with modifications
• Develop formative assessments to evaluate patients' current ability levels
• Collaborate with teachers to provide schoolwork accommodations and modifications

• 3 years of experience teaching in a public-school setting
• Proven ability to influence educational teams and facilitate workshops
• Experience developing and modifying curricula and teaching methods
• Experience analyzing student performance data to inform decisions and improve outcomes
• Experience with academic content standards and educational system requirements at state and federal levels
• Bachelor’s degree in Education
• Current teaching certification in the state of Georgia
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) required within 30 days of employment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated instructional and mentoring abilities
• Proficiency delivering presentations to groups of various sizes
• Versatile teaching skills adaptable to different age groups and curricula
• Strong interpersonal abilities
