This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill part-time/adjunct assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. You will be contacted by the hiring manager should the department/division be interested in scheduling an interview. Job Description Summary

ADJUNCT – ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE ( ESOL ):
Teach integrated beginning to advanced ESOL classes in reading, grammar, pronunciation, conversation and composition.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s in English with 18 graduate hours in teaching English as a Second Language.

Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Expertise in creative instructional methodologies.
  • Knowledge of current technology in instructional settings.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to establish rapport with students and motivate student learning. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages ( TESOL ).
  • Full-time teaching experience in high school or post secondary ESOL .
  • Experience teaching non-traditional and diverse populations.
  • Ability to teach multi-level students in one class.
