Job Description Qualifications- 1. Ability to introduce students to various jobs and secure employment for the students when possible in our community and surrounding communities.
- 2. The Jobs Coach must have completed two years of post-secondary study, obtained an associate's degree, or hold a high school diploma and demonstrate on the para educator's test his/her knowledge of and ability to instruct in reading, writing and mathematics by scoring a minumum composite score of 85%.
- 1. The Jobs Coach works under the direct supervision of the Director of Special Education.
- 2. Provides career exploration and pre-job development activies to students.
- 3. Explores various job possibilities available in the community.
- 4. Conducts job development to secure evaluation, training and placement sites for students participating in the Community-Based Work Transition Program.
- 5. Conducts community based vocational evaluations to assess students work strengths, needs and interests.
- 6. Completes written vocational evaluation reports.
- 7. Provides hands-on vocational training.
- 8. Works with students on an individual or small group basis to teach essential vocational skills at job sites within the community.
- 9. Coordinates and/ or provides follow-up services to ensure the successful placement of students within the community while they are attending school.
- 10. Maintains necessary ecords to satisfy requirements for the local school system and the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.
- 11. Keeps current and complete information regarding each student in a notebook.
- 12. Completes year-end program evaluation.
- 13. Shares information regarding student scheduling, job-related classroom training, community-based site development, community based vocational evaluation, training and placement with the student and their parents/guardians, the classroom teacher, vocational liaison or Director of Specail Education and the DVR Counselor.
- 14. Performs other duties as assigned.
185 days of service. Salary and classified schedule set by the district Board of Education.
