JOB ROLES:A flexible, campus-based educator who provides classroom coverage when teachers are absent and supports campus-wide duties as assigned. This role serves as a talent pipeline, preparing qualified candidates for future full-time teaching openings within the district.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required (or actively pursuing degree).
- Eligible to enroll in a teacher certification program
SKILLS:
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the campus.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.
- Ability to use computers including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine, and telephone.
- Deliver instruction based on provided lesson plans and learning objectives, using appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.
- Cover classrooms campus-wide when the assigned teacher is absent
- Manage student behavior and classroom routines
- Take attendance and complete required documentation
- Build positive, professional relationships with students, staff, families, and campus leadership.
- Work collaboratively with experienced teachers to strengthen instructional planning and classroom practices
- Communicate with administration on coverage needs
- Attend required staff meetings and professional development
- Step into full-time teaching roles as openings arise
- Perform any other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Light Work: may require occasional light lifting.
- Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.
- Position is in an office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.
