Position SummaryThe Sinclair Anatomy and Physiology Department utilizes labs to enhance the lecture presentations of our course offerings. The labs include human anatomy and physiology labs. With these great academic facilities, students have plenty of opportunities to gain hands-on experience through our programs.
The Biology Department is currently seeking adjunct instructors across multiple locations, including our Dayton Campus, Centerville Campus, and Mason location.
While opportunities are available at all sites, our greatest and most immediate need is at our Mason location, specifically on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The teaching day begins at 9:30 AM and concludes at 3:50 PM. The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is $1,046 per credit hour assigned to teach. This position is open only to applicants who reside in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky
, or who are able to perform work within one of these states. Sinclair Community College restricts part-time employment to approved states due to employment, tax, and benefits compliance requirements.

Principal Accountabilities- Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department
- Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
- Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate
- Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student’s needs
- Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
- Maintain accurate records of student progress
- Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than the maximum of 12 credit hours per semester
- Minimum of a master’s degree in biology required; or a master’s degree with at least 18 semester credit hours of biology graduate coursework in the content area required
- Evidence of successful prior teaching experience in human anatomy and physiology preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level
- Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community
- Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction
