Faculty Employment Opportunity POSITION:

TEMPORARY LECTURER IN TEACHER

EDUCATION:

The Department of Teacher Education invites applications for a temporary lecturer appointment. Part-time appointment to begin in Spring 2027. Duties include teaching Math Methods courses in the Education Specialist Credential Program (ESCP) in the Department of Teacher Education. Additional responsibilities include holding office hours for students, participating in course collaboration meetings, and completing program-related training. This position is contingent upon the availability of authorized funding.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1. Master's in Special Education or a Master’s in Education with a concentration in Special Education
  • 2. Demonstrated expertise in teaching students with disabilities.
  • 3. A minimum of five years of TK-12 teaching experience in a special education setting (i.e., Mild/Moderate and/or Extensive Support Needs).
  • 4. Strong evidence of teaching effectiveness (

    Applicant must include evaluations of prior teaching experience)
  • 5. Strong generic training with skills and experience in mathematics methods, assessment, curriculum, and instruction of students.
    6. Strong knowledge of Teacher Performance Expectations, Common Core State Standards, and the ELA/ELD Framework, and pedagogical frameworks (e.g., UDL, SEL) and their application to teaching and learning.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1. Teaching Credential with an added authorization in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
  • 2. Expertise in methods to teach English Learners
  • 3. Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis & Dyslexia Guidelines
  • 4. Experience teaching and supervising adults.
  • 5. Knowledge of technology for online teaching and Canvas LMS.

Salary is based on qualifications and experience. As a member of the 23-campus CSU System, we offer an extremely competitive benefits package.

Newly hired lecturers with terminal degrees are placed in Range 3 of the salary schedule and others are normally placed in Range
2. Starting salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules are prorated based on the number of units assigned and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.
