Randolph-Macon College is seeking applications for a full-time tenure-track position as Assistant Professor and Director of Choral Activities, starting on September 1, 2027. The college, located in Ashland, Virginia, offers a liberal arts education to approximately 1800 students and emphasizes inclusivity and hands‑on learning. The Music Program allows students to engage in various musical activities, including ensemble participation and coursework in music theory and history.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading two choral ensembles, teaching choral conducting, and developing courses for the music major and minor, as well as the music education program. Candidates should have a DMA in Choral Conducting or a PhD/DME in Choral Music Education (or a related field) by the appointment date, along with prior experience in leading choral groups and a commitment to effective teaching and student engagement.
Preferred qualifications include experience in vocal pedagogy and strategies for recruiting diverse choral singers.
