Duties and Responsibilities:

Work Habits: 50%
  • Provides information regarding admissions requirements, program specifics for students pursuing NEMSA programs.
  • Provides information regarding financial planning, grant opportunities, and aid options for students pursuing NEMSA programs.
  • Responsible for academic advising to students enrolled in NEMSA programs to ensure retention and on-time completion.
  • Corresponds frequently with NEMSA instructors, regional coordinators, and SoLAcc Deans to ensure that enrolled students and prospective students receive timely and accurate information regarding their academic training.
  • Develops procedures and processes, decision-making, and notification functions to maximize connectivity between NEMSA students and SoLAcc Academic and Student Services.
  • Manages intake process for SoLAcc for all NEMSA programs.
  • Interact with potential students, applicants, current students and faculty on matters pertaining to admissions, registration, student accounts, advising, student engagement, and disability services.
  • Maintain relevant records on NEMSA students
  • Assist students with scheduling National Registry through the SoLAcc Testing center.
  • Collect data related to advising, program re-admit data, and other duties as needed.
  • Assist with open house, preview day, and accreditation site visit activities as needed
Behavioral Standards: 30%
  • Communicates effectively through individual meetings, email, or one-on-one sessions.
  • Collaborates well with student intake team, registrars, and operational departments
  • Assists faculty, deans, and NEMSA personnel and staff in preparation for special events: accreditation events, graduation, pinning, etc.
  • Coordinates reports for student issues and complaints.
  • Works independently within a team environment on special and ongoing projects.
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and organized.
  • Attends all mandatory meetings.
Institutional Support: 10%
  • Collaborates within strong working relationships across SoLAcc, NEMSA, Acadian Companies, High School Recruiters, LCTCS, and other institutional partners.
  • Travel to job fairs, workforce recruiting events, secondary schools, and other appropriate recruitment events to engage prospective students in the region.
  • Assists with strategic planning for NEMSA programs
  • Assists with events, recruiting and advising for NEMSA programs as needed.
Team Relations: 10%
  • Works well with a team environment.
  • Engages in a culture of respect, treats others with dignity and respect.
  • Contributes to an environment where differences are valued and encouraged.
  • Holds office hours on corporate schedule which requires operations during some holiday breaks and school closures.
  • Joins committees and shares experience and expertise.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience
Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships
  • Ability to meet and/or exceed set program goals and objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, customer service, organizational skills and communication skills, both oral and written, required
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Etc.)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to remain adaptable and flexible to different situations and changes, including learning new systems and processes
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

Preferred Education:

Bachelor Degree or Related Certification (EMT, Safety, Training & Development, related Workforce Development certification)
