Pay: $153.60/day
Position SummaryRoncalli Catholic Schools is seeking compassionate and dependable Substitute Teachers for our elementary, middle, and high school locations. Substitute Teachers are responsible for maintaining a positive, safe, and faith-centered learning environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The substitute teacher implements lesson plans, supervises students, and supports the mission and values of Roncalli Catholic Schools.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, communicates effectively, and is committed to helping every student grow academically, socially, and spiritually.
Primary Responsibilities- Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the regular classroom teacher.
- Deliver classroom instruction and facilitate learning activities as assigned.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
- Maintain a structured, respectful, and orderly classroom environment.
- Supervise students during class, lunch, mass, recess, assemblies, and other school activities as required.
- Promote and model Catholic values and teachings.
- Take attendance and maintain accurate records as directed.
- Communicate pertinent information regarding student behavior, progress, or concerns to the regular teacher and administration.
- Enforce school policies, procedures, and disciplinary guidelines consistently and fairly.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters.
- Follow and implement safety procedures as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree required or teaching certification preferred.
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and effective instructional practices.
- Ability to work with students of varying ages and abilities.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Be comfortable using a computer or mobile device to record work hours.
- Successfully complete a criminal background check.
- Complete and maintain Virtus Safe Environment training.
- Support the mission and Catholic values of Roncalli Catholic Schools.
- Hourly wage of $19.20 per hour.
- Semi-monthly payroll (Paid on the 15th and last day of each month).
