Job Description SummaryThe Math Tutoring Lab in the Tutoring Center provides tutoring and individual assistance to A-B Tech students in all levels of mathematics, including developmental. Assistants assist students with acquiring the skills necessary to succeed in their coursework. Assistants work directly with the students in a fast-paced, busy lab. Assistants provide tutoring to students of various abilities and backgrounds. Assistants supervise tutoring lab Aides and Peer Tutors.
Assistants implement and enforce TC and A-B Tech policies, procedures, and guidelines while providing professional, helpful, and reliable assistance to students.
- 1. Bachelor’s Degree, or higher, with significant coursework in Math or a related field.
- 2. Experience teaching or tutoring in a higher education setting and/or successful prior work experience in an environment applicable to the current position.
- 3. Patience and the ability to multi-task.
- 4. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Patience and ability to multi-task.
- 5. Basic computer skills and the ability to use a graphing calculator.
- 1. At least 2 years of experience teaching or tutoring in a higher education setting.
- 2. Familiarity with A-B Tech’s campus and curriculum.
