Interim Pastor Position

Mt. Holly First Presbyterian (FPC) is a small, but vibrant church located in the heart of downtown Mt. Holly, NC. Everyone is welcome and we are committed to knowing Christ, one another, and our neighbors in authentic and lasting ways. In this season of change, we are seeking a leader with a pastor’s heart to cultivate relationships and sustain our ministries of pastoral care, hospitality, and worship as we seek God’s guidance and move through this time of transition.

• Exhibits steadfast pastoral presence and a vocational call toward relational ministry and connection.
• Preaches with energy, enthusiasm and joy, and provides sermons that are relevant and reflect life applications
• Theological training (PCUSA preferred)
• Demonstrates strong organizational and communication skills

Primary responsibilities to include:

• Lead worship on Sunday mornings and on special occasions, including Christmas Eve, Lenten services and Holy Week services
• Moderate monthly Session meetings
• Provide pastoral care in coordination with other clergy and/or lay persons
• Work together to provide for the spiritual growth and the ongoing mission and work of the church.
• Work together with the Pastor Nominating Committee and Session to prepare the congregation to receive a new installed pastor, using the interim time to assess the future journey of the congregation, to focus on what might need to be changed, and to lead and support the congregation in fulfilling the interim period developmental tasks and goals.

The church is open to either full-time or part-time employment. Salary is negotiable.
