The Department of Physics at Temple University, within the College of Science and Technology, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Theoretical Quantum Physics, with an anticipated start date of Fall 2026. We seek an outstanding scholar and teacher who will contribute to our mission of academic excellence, innovative research, and inclusive education. We are particularly interested in candidates whose work complements and enhances existing departmental strengths, and who demonstrate potential for building externally funded research programs, mentoring students, and fostering cross-disciplinary partnerships.
Research areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Quantum sensing and quantum-enhanced measurement technologies
- Quantum materials, including topological phases and strongly correlated systems
- Quantum optics and atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics
- Quantum information science in nuclear and particle physics
We welcome candidates whose research bridges subfields, connects with national laboratories, industry, or contributes to broader scientific initiatives.
