Temporary Behavior Assistant

Under the direction of school administration, responsible for one-on-one and small group instructional coaching sessions with students using a variety of strategies. Also responsible for gathering and charting data related to student behavior; modeling intervention strategies; and assist classroom and instructional support staff in implementation of individual student plans.

• Work proactively to support student success.
• Follow student discipline procedures effectively.
• Receive and follow written and/or oral directions promptly and efficiently.
• Help maintain order and safety by providing appropriate supervision of students as assigned.
• Establish and maintain harmonious and cooperative relationships with students, parents and other staff members
• Obtain and keep current First Aid and CPR certification
• Current CPI training required

• Demonstrate an understanding, patient, and receptive attitude toward students.
• Assist in developing schedules and opportunities for students.
• Provide behavioral interventions to children in the school setting.
• Monitor, record, and document observations of student behavior.
• Modify daily activities of students appropriate to behavioral interventions.
• Instruct and counsel students on Zones of Regulation and other positive behavior supports.
• Participate in IEP meetings as appropriate.
• Maintain and manage a safe environment for students.
• Reports observed or any suspected safety problems to Principal promptly.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal or supervisor.

This is a temporary position beginning September 14th and going through December 18th. Monday through Friday 7.0 hours/day on all student contact days.

Salary and benefits per the Classified negotiated agreement.
