Lead Pastor

About Lake Norman Vineyard

Lake Norman Vineyard is a Vineyard church serving the growing Lake Norman area north of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Our vision is to see people restored by Jesus, empowered by the Holy Spirit, equipped to do the works of the Kingdom, and sent to extend His Kingdom to others.

We value biblical teaching, authentic community, the presence and ministry of the Holy Spirit, compassionate outreach, and the Vineyard emphasis on equipping ordinary people to “do the stuff” of the Kingdom.

The Position

The Youth & Administrative Pastor is a full-time pastoral position with a primary focus on youth ministry, along with administrative and assistant-pastor responsibilities that support the overall life of the church.

The anticipated weekly allocation is approximately:

Youth Ministry Leadership — 30 hours
Administrative & Assistant-Pastor Responsibilities — 10 hours

We are looking for a relational, spiritually mature leader who loves students, develops people, and is able to bring organization and follow-through to ministry.

This position is not designed for one person to personally accomplish every ministry task. The pastor will recruit, equip, organize, and empower volunteers and ministry leaders while helping ensure that important responsibilities are carried through.

Youth Ministry

The Youth & Administrative Pastor will provide spiritual, relational, and organizational leadership for students in grades 6–12 and their families.

Spiritual Formation & Weekly Ministry
  • Develop and lead engaging, biblically faithful weekly youth gatherings.
Teach Scripture in ways that help students understand and practice the Christian faith.
  • Help students develop habits of prayer, Scripture, worship, service, and Christian community.
  • Create opportunities for students to encounter and respond to the Holy Spirit.
  • Teach and model Vineyard Kingdom ministry, including prayer ministry and the Five-Step Prayer Model.
  • Develop adult and student leaders who can teach, disciple, pray, and serve.
Relational Discipleship & Family Ministry
  • Build meaningful relationships with students and their families.
  • Provide appropriate pastoral care, encouragement, prayer, and discipleship.
  • Partner with parents in the spiritual formation of their students.
  • Maintain consistent and effective communication with students and parents.
  • Help students become connected to the broader worship, community, service, and mission of the church.
Volunteer & Leadership Development
  • Recruit, train, encourage, and develop adult youth-ministry volunteers.
  • Build a healthy team culture in which ministry responsibility is shared.
  • Identify and develop student leaders.
  • Lead regular volunteer meetings for prayer, planning, training, and team development.
Outreach & Growth
  • Develop an intentional strategy for reaching students who are not currently connected to the church.
  • Create a welcoming ministry environment where students feel comfortable inviting friends.
  • Ensure that first-time students receive thoughtful and personal follow-up.
  • Develop opportunities for school, community, service, and relational outreach.
  • Equip students to naturally share their faith and participate in the mission of Jesus.
Camps, Events & Ministry Development
  • Develop and maintain an annual youth-ministry calendar.
  • Participate in South East Regional camps (Summer & Winter) and Project Timothy
  • Maintain safe, organized, and effective ministry systems.
  • Apply principles from Sustainable Youth Ministry in ways appropriate to the size and context of Lake Norman Vineyard.
