EED Child Development Instructional Aide (C10) :Infant/Toddler and Preschool Classrooms
The EED Instructional Aide supports teachers in a child development program by assisting with instruction, classroom activities,
and daily care to promote children’s learning and development.
Key Responsibilities & Role DetailsThe duties specified below are representative of the range of duties assigned to the job code/class and are not intended to be an inclusive or exhaustive list:
- Support teachers and certificated staff in delivering instruction and engaging students in learning activities
- Assist students with daily needs, use of materials, and development of positive behaviors, habits, and skills
- Supervise students during classroom, play, meal, and restroom times to ensure safety and appropriate conduct
- Prepare, organize, and maintain instructional materials, equipment, and learning spaces
- Monitor assigned areas, including indoor and outdoor environments, to uphold safety and behavior expectations
- Assist with snack and meal preparation and supervision
- Support classroom routines, including nap setup and cleanup
- Support children’s physical, social, and emotional needs, including meals, restroom routines, and rest time
- Maintain records, assist with communication with families, and support classroom operations as needed
- Accompany students on field trips and assist with related logistics
