The EED Instructional Aide supports teachers in a child development program by assisting with instruction, classroom activities,

and daily care to promote children’s learning and development.

The duties specified below are representative of the range of duties assigned to the job code/class and are not intended to be an inclusive or exhaustive list:

• Support teachers and certificated staff in delivering instruction and engaging students in learning activities
• Assist students with daily needs, use of materials, and development of positive behaviors, habits, and skills
• Supervise students during classroom, play, meal, and restroom times to ensure safety and appropriate conduct
• Prepare, organize, and maintain instructional materials, equipment, and learning spaces
• Monitor assigned areas, including indoor and outdoor environments, to uphold safety and behavior expectations
• Assist with snack and meal preparation and supervision
• Support classroom routines, including nap setup and cleanup
• Support children’s physical, social, and emotional needs, including meals, restroom routines, and rest time
• Maintain records, assist with communication with families, and support classroom operations as needed
• Accompany students on field trips and assist with related logistics
• Perform other related duties as assigned
