Under direction of a SFUSD credentialed teacher or counselor, the AVID tutor will work with and facilitate academic support for small groups of students.
Duties and Responsibilities- AVID Tutors will facilitate small learning groups and support teachers in the classrooms.
- AVID Tutors will provide feedback on student work and the college application process.
- AVID Tutors must be able to travel to assigned school sites as required.
- AVID Tutors may be asked to participate in meetings and in-service training programs.

- Understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Communicate effectively with students and adults both orally and in writing
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, instructional staff, parents, and others connected to the course work
- Work confidentially, with discretion and with appropriate boundaries
- Manage time effectively and be punctual for job responsibilities.
- Applicants must pass a background check administered by SFUSD, fingerprinting, and provide negative TB test results.
- Adult, 18 years of age or older
