Holy Name Catholic School is excited to welcome a caring and enthusiastic Pre-Kindergarten Paraprofessional to join our faith-filled learning community. We are seeking someone who loves working with young children, values strong relationships, and enjoys helping our youngest learners grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
Our ideal Pre-Kindergarten Paraprofessional:
- Creates a warm, positive, and nurturing environment for young children
- Supports the classroom teacher with daily instruction, activities, and routines
- Models kindness, patience, and faith in daily interactions
- Assists students during small-group and individual learning activities
- Supports early literacy, math, language, fine-motor, and social-emotional development
- Helps students develop independence with classroom routines and expectations
- Encourages learning through play, exploration, movement, and creativity
- Builds positive and caring relationships with students
- Assists with classroom preparation, organization, transitions, and supervision
- Works collaboratively with the classroom teacher and other staff members
- Brings patience, flexibility, joy, and a genuine love for young children to the classroom

RequirementsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of or experience with early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices
- Ability to engage, encourage, and support young learners in a positive and nurturing manner
- Ability to assist the classroom teacher with instruction, small groups, learning centers, and daily classroom routines
- Strong organization, supervision, and classroom support skills
- Ability to support students with a variety of academic, social-emotional, and developmental needs
- Patience, flexibility, and the ability to help young children develop independence
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work closely with the classroom teacher and follow established classroom expectations and procedures
Education and Experience
- Experience preferred, but not required
- Background check must be completed
- Safe Environment Certified
