Anderson University and the College of Health Professions seeks qualified candidates for a part-time Adjunct Instructor position within the department of Community and Public Health. The Adjunct Instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging instruction in Community and Public Health courses at the undergraduate level. This is a teaching-only position with no research or service obligations required.
** Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*** Deliver course instruction in accordance with established course syllabi, learning objectives, and departmental standards
* Create an inclusive and academically rigorous classroom environment conducive to student learning
* Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, examinations, and other course-appropriate assessments
* Maintain accurate and timely grade records in accordance with institutional policies
* Communicate course expectations clearly through a well-organized course syllabus distributed at the start of each term
* Maintain scheduled office hours or availability for student consultation as required by departmental policy
* Participate in required faculty orientations and departmental meetings as requested
* Adhere to all institutional policies, procedures, and academic integrity standards
** Minimum Qualifications
*** Master's degree or higher in Public Health, Community Health, Health Education, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution
* Demonstrated professional experience in the field of community and/or public health
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population
** Preferred Qualifications
*** Prior college-level teaching experience in community or public health
* Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CHES, CPH, or equivalent)
* Experience with student-centered and active learning instructional strategies
* Familiarity with course management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, D2L)
** Working Conditions
*** Traditional seated classroom environment
* Schedule varies by term based on course availability and departmental need
* Compensation is per course/credit hour in accordance with institutional adjunct pay scale
