Extended Day Educator

Beauvoir, the National Cathedral Elementary School, is looking for an Extended Day Educator to teach in the School’s Afternoon Beauvoir Connections (ABC) program.

Salary range: $23 – $27 per hour.

• Curriculum Development and Implementation:
  • Design and implement engaging lesson plans and activities that align with program goals and educational standards.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic development.
• Supervision and Guidance:
  • Supervise students during all program activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to assistant teachers and volunteers, ensuring effective teamwork and collaboration.
• Community Engagement:
  • Communicate regularly with the Auxiliary Team and caregivers regarding student progress, program updates, and upcoming events.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school administrators, and families to enhance program offerings and resources.
• Behavior Management:
  • Implement effective behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and resolve conflicts as needed.
  • Ensure all program policies and procedures are followed consistently.
• Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and documentation of student progress and achievements.
  • Assist in program evaluation and assessment, providing input for continuous improvement.

• At least two years of college coursework completed.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong understanding of child development principles and educational best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

• Consistently being on time (2:00 p.m. everyday)
• Availability during after-school hours from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. except on holidays and other non-school days such as professional and conference days.
• Work may involve standing, bending, lifting, and outdoor activities.
• This position has a projected hourly rate range of $23.00-$27.00

• Additional opportunities to work full day camps from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on professional and conference days, as well as school breaks.
