OVERVIEW American Councils for International Education is seeking a Program Officer for Virtual Initiatives in Washington, DC. This role supports the Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program, which provides funded summer opportunities in critical languages for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students through overseas and virtual program formats. The position focuses on planning and administering virtual initiatives that support international education and study abroad participation.

The Program Officer for Virtual Initiatives works closely with participants and overseas partner institutions to help deliver effective education experiences. Responsibilities include program coordination, participant support, workshop facilitation, and data analysis connected to international initiatives and virtual programming.

• Lead planning and administration of virtual language programming
• Develop preparatory materials for participants
• Support participants throughout the program experience
• Coordinate with overseas partner institutions
• Conduct workshops and orientations
• Present at conferences and webinars related to study abroad opportunities
• Support international education programming initiatives

• Experience or knowledge related to virtual program administration
