Humanities Teaching Fellow

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Teaching select courses and substituting for existing teachers as needed
• Learning the BASIS Charter School model and program to prepare for full-time teaching or other roles
• Maintaining a visible presence in all areas of school life and supporting student well-being
• Assisting with classroom management and student academic support
• Helping with events, labs, testing, and proctoring assessments
• Monitoring students during non-scheduled times, including Early Bird, Late Bird, and lunch supervision
• Supporting Deans and Directors of Student Affairs with behavior and discipline management
• Assisting in managing and executing key school programs

The company is looking for candidates with:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Valid fingerprint clearance and/or satisfactory state background check
• Ability to work full time
• Willingness to take and pass the NES Elementary Education Assessment if necessary
• Flexibility to be considered for campuses beyond the initially desired location
• Commitment to maintaining current knowledge in subject matter and BASIS teaching methodologies
• Strong belief in and adherence to the BASIS Charter School academic program and model
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Good judgment and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work professionally with diverse groups
• Exemplary organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
• Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
