Position: The Paul S. Amos Chair in Biblical Studies (Old Testament)
Location: Wilmore

ASBURY THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY announces a tenure track faculty position at the rank of associate or full professor to fill the Paul S. Amos Chair. The start date is negotiable. The position is based in Wilmore, KY and would involve primarily supporting the Advanced Research Program (Th.M./Ph.D.). This includes serving on the Advanced Research Program’s standing committee, advising and supervising Ph.D. students, serving on comprehensive exam and dissertation committees, supervising Amos scholars (Ph.D. students who serve as research assistants to the Amos chair), and teaching four courses per year, three of which would support the Advanced Research Program and one course for the M.Div./M.A.

programs.

Qualifications:

strong personal faith in Jesus Christ, mature Christian character, and active involvement in one’s congregational and denominational life; completion of a Ph.D. in Old Testament or the area of biblical studies with a focus in Old Testament; working knowledge of and strong commitment to biblical and Old Testament studies; demonstrated effectiveness in classroom instruction; demonstrated scholarly achievements through contributions to the field;

demonstrated ability regarding collegial relations and contribution as a member of a theological faculty. Asbury is a confessional seminary in the Wesleyan tradition, and enthusiastic agreement with the seminary’s confessional and ethos statements is required.
