Budgeted SalaryThe budgeted base salary range for this position is $36.54 - $38.46 per hour.
The School of Humanities and Sciences (H&S) is the foundation of a liberal arts education school encompasses 24 departments and 25 interdisciplinary programs. Stanford Political Science is an academic department consisting of 40+ faculty and lecturers as well as post-doctoral scholars and approximately 90+ graduate students and 150 undergraduate majors and minors. We are a strong team of seven full time administrative staff that encourages collaboration, opportunities for professional growth and a positive working experience for all team members.
Brief Position SummaryThe Department of Political Science is seeking a Student Services and Event Specialist who will be responsible for supporting graduate and undergraduate student affairs for the department as well as weekly academic workshops.
This position is a key member of the administrative team supporting the department’s student services group and faculty with course and enrollment administration. The position also manages academic and social events for students and organizes the Summer Research College program. The role also includes independently managing logistical arrangements for weekly academic workshops which may include travel arrangements, organizing itineraries and workshop communication.
This is a 100%, non-exempt, continuing position.
Preferred QualificationsThe Student Services & Events Specialist must possess a team-based and customer-focused mindset. It is critical that this position exhibit the ability to practice sound judgment and decision-making, effective written & oral communication, strong attention to detail and respectful relationship management. This position must also exhibit a strong desire to continuously learn new and unfamiliar business topics, policies and procedures as they relate to the department of Political Science.
