OVERVIEW The Immigration Advisor position is housed within Immigration Services for Students and Scholars under the Office of Global Engagement at the University of Mississippi. This role supports international students and study abroad participants through immigration advising, student support services, and regulatory compliance activities. The position focuses on helping students understand immigration requirements while maintaining accurate records and supporting institutional compliance with federal regulations.

• Provide immigration advising to international students and study abroad students
• Maintain SEVIS records and related documentation
• Support orientation activities for students
• Advise students regarding employment authorization processes
• Provide guidance on OPT, CPT, STEM OPT, and Academic Training
• Collaborate with campus offices to support international student services
• Support compliance with federal immigration regulations
• Assist with international student compliance processes

• Experience or knowledge related to immigration advising
• Ability to support compliance with federal immigration regulations
• Knowledge of SEVIS record maintenance
• Ability to advise students on OPT, CPT, STEM OPT, and Academic Training
