DescriptionThe Department of Aerospace Engineering, College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty candidate with a 9-month academic appointment, with the possibility of an additional summer appointment contingent upon need and availability of funds, beginning Fall 2027. Applicants will be considered at the level of Assistant or Associate professor.
This advertisement is for Candidates will be considered with areas of interest in all aspects of space engineering. Applicants with specialized technical focus in the areas of space communications, technologies and methods for space-based data processing, edge computing for spacecraft, encryption and cybersecurity, positioning, navigation, timing, space-based remote sensing, geodesy, threat assessment and remediation, and space mission design are encouraged to apply to this search.
Qualified applicants with prior experience on applying relevant technologies for space environment will be preferred.
Successful applicants will be required to develop and teach courses in the newly established Space Engineering program at Texas A&M; advise and mentor graduate students; develop an independent externally funded research program at the forefront of aerospace and space engineering and sciences; participate in all aspects of the department’s activities; and serve the profession. Applicants must have an earned doctorate in aerospace engineering or a closely related science and engineering discipline.
