The Learning & Development Consultant partners with business leaders and stakeholders to assess performance needs, design and deliver learning solutions, and evaluate their effectiveness. This role supports management and advanced-level audiences by developing engaging learning experiences that build capability, improve performance, and drive business results.
The consultant applies adult learning principles and a variety of delivery methods, including instructor-led training (virtual and in-person), e-learning, coaching, job aids, and learning technologies. They are responsible for managing learning initiatives from needs analysis through evaluation, ensuring learners successfully achieve desired outcomes and organizational goals.
Essential Job Functions- Conduct learning needs assessments and performance analyses to identify capability gaps and business needs.
- Design, develop, and implement learning and performance improvement solutions for management and advanced-level audiences.
- Lead learning projects of moderate to high complexity, ensuring quality, timeliness, and alignment with business objectives.
- Apply adult learning principles and instructional design best practices to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
- Deliver training through a variety of methods, including classroom, virtual, coaching, e-learning, and blended learning solutions.
- Establish metrics and evaluation methods to measure learning effectiveness, behavior change, and business impact.
- Analyze evaluation results and make recommendations to improve learning content, delivery methods, and overall program effectiveness.
- Serve as the owner and administrator of learning programs, managing implementation plans, schedules, and stakeholder expectations.
- Provide coaching and developmental support to employees and leaders to enhance individual and team performance.
- Partner with business leaders to identify performance challenges and recommend appropriate learning and non-learning solutions.
- Maintain, update, and continuously improve existing learning programs and content.
- Utilize and support learning technologies, including learning management systems and digital learning tools.
