Philadelphia Children's Theater is hiring a part-time Education Coordinator to help build and grow their education programs.
Philadelphia Children's Theater is currently running 2 theater classes for children ages 6-12 at the Adrienne Theatre in Philadelphia on Saturdays, with plans for continued programming in the winter and spring, as well as camps next summer at a TBD location in Philadelphia. A growing teen apprentice program attached to PACT's professional theater season is also in process.
- Work with the Artistic Director to envision the future of our education department and plan future education programming.
- Develop new and existing curricula with the Artistic Director and Lead Teaching Artists.
- Work with the Artistic Director to select and hire Teaching Artists. The Education Coordinator is also welcome to lead or assist classes in addition to this position.
- Coordinate and communicate with teaching staff, including providing support for classes in person, as needed.
- Strategize with the Artistic Director on marketing and outreach efforts.
- Implement outreach efforts to grow awareness and grow registration.
- Support the registration process, communicating with families in a welcoming manner.
- Ensure safe and welcoming spaces for all students and teaching staff.
- Support scholarship and accessibility efforts.
- Report hours worked for self and teaching artists prior to the payroll deadline.
- Attend a brief weekly check-in with the Artistic Director, as needed.
Philadelphia Children's Theater does not currently have a permanent home. All work outside of class time is remote at this time.
A class session is underway. The Education Coordinator will need to jump into some classroom support right away, including attending the final session of classes on November 14, 9:30-12:30.
This position will naturally evolve and expand over time. We are seeking someone who will want to grow the role or share it with a co-coordinator in the near future.
Preferred Skills and Experiences:- Experience as a Teaching Artist with two or more arts organizations, including experience as a Lead Teaching Artist.
- Previous work in arts administration is preferred.
- History of working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, as well as differing abilities.
- A warm and welcoming personality, with the ability to co-create a vision for a bright, accessible, inclusive, fruitful future.

$30/hr for up to 20 hours a month from late October through June of 2027. We anticipate some months will require 25-30 hours, while others will require 10-15. We are committed to open communication as our programming and this position evolve.
