The Interim Director, Adult and Continuing Education will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of adult education programs and ensures high-quality learning experiences for diverse adult learners. The Director will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, manage resource perform financial grant reporting, provide professional development, and engage in strategic planning for adult education initiatives including enrollment management.
DISTINGUISHINGCHARACTERISTICS
The Director of Adult and Continuing Education will serve as the administrator for the Long Beach Adult Education Consortium (CAEP) and oversee day-to-day operations, marketing, and community engagement for the successful implementation of CAEP funding. The incumbent will provide day-to-day leadership for adult education programs.

1. Adult Education Leadership- Provides day-to-day leadership for adult education in the greater Long Beach area, fostering a high-performance, customer service-oriented environment.
- Develops and implements strategic and long-range program planning for a comprehensive and integrated program.
- Leads and collaborates on grant writing in support of adult learners.
- Identifies and recommends opportunities for faculty and staff to develop new programs and services meeting the evolving needs of adult learners.
- Serves as a district wide resource on indirect matriculants, offering expertise on their demographics, enrollment, and special needs to faculty and departments.
